I am a 2nd year Geography bachelor's student, and my favorite part of this field is Geomatics and GIS. Basically Geomatics is the whole range of tools and methods used in order to compute and map geographic data. This covers different tech, such as remote sensing, surveying, or GIS.

What is GIS ? : Geographic Information Systems are all the tools used in order to create, manipulate and represent data in space. These tools are basically used to create maps to address certain issues from different actors. For example, GIS are used by transport companies in order to have an overview of their network, to decide what part of it needs work or renovation, or even to point out the areas that needs more service.
